Bridal Bouquet
This bouquet was designed for my wedding which coincides with the contests' wedding theme. It was created in the OLD traditional manner using white flowers. A NEW technique to make this bouquet was used with beads instead of fresh flowers. The floral contains orchids and cherry blossoms. The ghost orchid pattern was BORROWED. (found here at Bead-Patterns.com) The other flowers I created on my own. The entire arrangement was accented with delicate ice BLUE lacy leaves. (Shhhhhh! This is a secret. Please don't tell my fiance.)

The center cabochon, Picture Jasper, coming from the Earth is very OLD, and all the glass beads that were used are NEW. I BORROWED the idea of combining the two main colors (blue and cream) together from the lady I created this cuff for. Various shades of BLUE glass seed beads were used within this design.

This piece encompasses all elements of the contest,including the overall suggested classical elegance that a bride assumes on her wedding day. "Something Old" is the antique Brooch used as the necklace centerpiece. The brooch was purchased at an Antique Show several years ago. The piece itself is "Something New" as it combines the elements of old, borrowed, and blue into one. In addition this is the first piece which I have solely designed. "Something Borrowed" is the Button used as a clasp. The button was borrowed from one of my dress suits. I also borrowed several jewelry books from the library to obtain inspiration for this piece. "Something Blue" are the royal czech, glass, and seed beads used throughout the piece which also add to the classical elegance.

This tapestry was inspired by the Three Graces from Greek Mythology, which is OLD. Designed with the under tones of a wedding, (they could be bridesmaids) which is NEW. The pattern was created from the use of BORROWED images and photographs. Subtle shades and values of color were used, including various tones of BLUE.
