| A New Heirloom
for family |
| A Humming Bird
with a Pansy in a Victorian style is one of the favorites through
the years.(Timeless) Of course the wide scale of color in Delica
Beads make them so fun to work with. I used a medium weight clasp to
keep bracelet in balance so picture is always on top. I also made
the beaded band having two different looks. One style is straight
beading the other style is to put clasp through the band once or
twice to make a twisted design as shown in picture. |
|
Stitch |
Peyote stitch for the main
part, back part is strung pearls, crystals and silver separators.

| Stitch used for
base is peyote, done with size 11 Japanese triangle beads. Flowers
are a variation of a design from Beadwork magazine called Dresden
plate flowers. They are done with delica beads, size 11, formed into
a circle. The outline of the leaves are done next, and the last step
is filling in the petals with rows of alternating colors of size 11
delica beads. A 5 mm,Swarovski crystal is sewn into the center of
each flower. The roses are done in size 11 Czech beads, following a
pattern in Barbara Grainger's book "Dimensional Flowers, Leaves and
Vines". The rest is surface embellishment, (attaching leaves of
peridot, and czech pressed glass (leaves). The closure is a
watermelon tourmaline bead. |
