In the summertime as a young girl, I often went with my family to Crystal Lake, located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Montana. The shimmering lakes reflect the beauty of the mountains. Most Montana lakes are so crystal clear you can see to the bottom at the deepest spot. My choice of beads and colors in this bracelet capture the timeless beauty of a Montana lake. This slinky bracelet just shimmers with color! Bring your picnic basket and huckleberry pie!

Beads Into The Universe
This is a piece I did from a Bead & Button issue August 2003. It is done in delica seed beads and used a 2 needle peyote stitch. My bracelet is BEADS INTO THE UNIVERSE and I believe is a timeless bracelet because the black represents the outer space of the universe and the colors are the beads infusing into it; this is from the dawn of time there was the universe and from the beginning there were beads of some sort and here is the joining of them for all times.

A Mother's Timeless Love
The Victorians had a custom of making jewelry that incorporated the birthstones of a person's loved ones to keep them symbolically close to themselves. I made this bracelet for my mother for that purpose. The cab in the middle has the Japanese ideogram for the word "Mother". The gemstones handsewn to a clear seed bead peyote base are stones that represent my mother and her children. My Mother: Ruby (July), myself: Bloodstone (March), my husband: Turquoise (December), my brother: Quartz Crystal (Instead of Diamonds, for April), and my other brother: Pearl (June). The timelessness of this bracelet are the symbols of a mother's love for her children. A love that never dies.

Stitch

Peyote, Bead Embroidery

Beads Used

Various 11/o seed beads, various 8/o seed beads, various 6/o seed beads, approx. 8mm freshwater pearls, turquoise chips, rose quartz chips, crystal quartz chips, 6mm bloodstone, square miyuki beads, mother-of-pearl chips, sterling silver spacers, 3 mm rub

Approx Finished Size

8 1/2 inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide
